Description
Hesperia Unified School District is soliciting bids from qualified, licensed contractors for a public-works upgrade to a walk-in freezer at its Nutrition Services facility. The work includes replacing one low-temperature condensing unit and two fan-coil units; installing three electrical disconnect switches and fuses; connecting new conduit, wiring, controls, and refrigerant piping; installing new insulation and metal jacketing; charging, leak-checking, evacuating, starting up, and commissioning the system; and removing and disposing of existing equipment in accordance with EPA guidelines. The project also includes installing four-inch reinforced interior safety curbing, new LED light fixtures, and replacement sliding-door rails, with possible concrete work, crane service, and rigging as required. Bidders must provide a detailed removal and installation method, maintain system integrity, comply with prevailing-wage, California building, fire-safety, and school-facility requirements, and provide required licenses, bonds, insurance, certifications, and bid forms. The project has an anticipated start date of December 18, 2026, and a hard completion deadline of April 30, 2027.
