Description
The Town of York is soliciting sealed bids for the general contract to replace the existing storm-damaged Ocean Avenue Extension seawall. The work includes mobilization and demobilization; storm contingency planning; temporary pedestrian, traffic, erosion, sediment, and site-protection measures; demolition and legal disposal or salvage of the existing stone masonry seawall and stair structures; and reconstruction of approximately 344 linear feet of stone masonry seawall with reinforced cast-in-place concrete footings. The project also includes reconstruction of the stone masonry access stairs and landing, granite capstones, continuous drainage fields and weep holes, riprap toe protection, new metal pipe railings/guardrails, excavation and backfill, utility and roadway protection, incidental site work, and restoration of staging and access areas. Add alternates cover seawall metal railings and a cast-in-place concrete cap. The contractor must provide qualified stone masonry experience, references for at least three similar completed projects, Maine erosion-control certification documentation, required submittals and testing, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract price.
