Description
The United States Navy, through NAVSUP WSS Mechanicsburg, is soliciting offers for the manufacture and supply of a stem assembly for a 6-inch ball valve. The assembly consists of a stem (piece 82), stem retaining nut (piece 83), and bushing (piece 84), in accordance with Naval Sea Systems Command drawings 803-4384681 and 803-4384678. The stem must use QQ-N-286 material, annealed and age hardened, with no weld repair permitted. The requirement is designated Special Emphasis material (Level I) because it will be used in a crucial shipboard system. The contractor must meet extensive quality, inspection, testing, certification, configuration-control, and material-traceability requirements, including dye penetrant inspection, ultrasonic inspection, chemical and mechanical certification, ISO 9001-based quality-system controls, and submission of certificates of compliance and test results. The solicitation is a total small-business set-aside and any resulting contract will be DO-rated for national defense. Certification documentation must be submitted through Wide Area Workflow for review and acceptance before each shipment.
