Description
The County of Orange is seeking applications from qualified organizations to provide inpatient behavioral health services. These services are for Medi-Cal eligible youth, adults, and older adults who have a serious mental health condition, often with co-occurring medical/substance use disorders, or a standalone severe substance use disorder requiring acute inpatient psychiatric treatment. The County intends to establish two Master Contracts for facilities that are either Acute Free-Standing Psychiatric Hospitals (AFSPH) or General Acute Care Hospitals (GACH) providing Medi-Cal Mental Health Managed Care Inpatient Hospital Services. Services will include comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care, from admission through stabilization and transition to lower levels of care. This encompasses person-centered, trauma-informed care, including co-occurring substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. Key services include psychiatric evaluations, daily rounds, medical health assessments, psychosocial assessments, medication management, individual and group therapy, substance use interventions, care coordination, and extensive pre-discharge planning with aftercare support.
