Description
The Ventura County Transportation Commission is soliciting a contractor to operate its VCTC Intercity Transit program, consisting of six regional fixed routes serving Ventura County and extending into Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties. The scope includes bus operations, fare collection and accountability, dispatching, customer assistance, reporting, staffing, transition planning, community outreach, ADA-compliant service, and emergency response. The contractor will operate a fleet of approximately 41 buses, including diesel and electric motorcoaches, and provide support vehicles and all personnel required for uninterrupted service. The contractor will also perform comprehensive vehicle maintenance, inspections, cleaning, repairs, preventive maintenance, technology support, fueling coordination, and maintenance reporting. The contract has a five-year base period beginning May 4, 2027, with two optional two-year extensions. Proposals must address the required operating approach, staffing and qualifications, vehicle maintenance plan, transition schedule, financial and company information, references, pricing, and required federal and agency forms.
