Description
New York State's Office of Mental Health and Office of Addiction Services and Supports are offering state-aid and capital funding to develop five Crisis Stabilization Centers: three Supportive Crisis Stabilization Centers in the Long Island, Central New York, and North Country Economic Development Regions, and two Intensive Crisis Stabilization Centers in eligible New York City boroughs. Centers must provide voluntary, person-centered, trauma-informed crisis services 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year, including triage, assessment, therapeutic interventions, peer support, observation, care coordination, discharge planning, and follow-up. Intensive centers must additionally provide psychiatric evaluation, psychosocial assessment, medication management and administration, medication-assisted treatment, and mild-to-moderate detoxification services. Applicants must be eligible not-for-profit agencies, public benefit corporations, county-operated programs, or government entities authorized to operate relevant programs. Applicants must be registered in the Statewide Financial System, and not-for-profit applicants must be prequalified by the submission deadline. Each proposal requires a narrative addressing local need, program design, implementation, agency performance, quality improvement, diversity and inclusion, and financial assessment, along with an operating budget and required certifications and supporting documentation. Capital funding is available up to $2,000,000 per awardee upon request; operating support varies by center type and region. The operating contract term is five years, with anticipated start-up funding beginning July 1, 2027 and operating funding beginning July 1, 2028.
