Description
Maui County's Department of Fire and Public Safety is soliciting construction services to inspect and repair the existing waterproofing system at the Lahaina Fire Station. The work includes site protection and best management practices; excavation approximately 18 to 24 inches below grade; inspection and possible replacement of the waterproofing membrane, termination bar, sealant, and protection board; installation of two-piece copper reglet flashing; gravel and geotextile replacement; and restoration of disturbed areas. The anticipated excavation extends approximately 45 feet along the north-facing wall and 26 feet along the east-facing wall. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, disposal, safety measures, and related incidental work. The project manual states that work must be completed within 120 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed, while the proposal form states 365 calendar days; bidders should resolve this discrepancy before submitting. Bids require the completed and signed proposal, bid breakdown, subcontractor list, and bid security, with optional apprenticeship-preference documentation. The solicitation also requires a site inspection and sets a bid security amount of at least 5% of the bid, with performance and payment bonds required after award as specified.
