Description
The Federal Aviation Administration is seeking capability statements from firms able to provide Spin and Spin Recovery Training for FAA Aircraft Certification Flight Test Pilots and related flight test crewmembers under FAA course 21800090. The required services include a minimum of four hours of ground instruction and two hours of actual in-aircraft flight instruction per student, consisting of approximately two one-hour flights. Simulator time may supplement, but not replace, the in-aircraft requirement. The contractor must provide qualified instructors, training facilities, airworthy backup aircraft, fuel, oil, landing fees, storage, tie-down services, training aids, course materials, and applicable aircraft and operational support. Aircraft must be capable of the required spin and recovery training, including qualifying turbine-powered and/or high-performance piston-powered aircraft. Respondents must submit a capability statement describing relevant aircraft training, prior contract experience and past performance, years in business, geographic training area, and proposed approach. The market survey does not itself establish a competition or guarantee an award.
