Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is seeking information about moisture barrier fabrics for structural firefighting turnout coats and pants. Proposed fabrics must be compatible with specified outer shells and thermal liners and meet performance thresholds for total heat loss, thermal protective performance, and evaporative resistance when tested in combination with those materials. Responses must include an Underwriters Laboratories-certified letter validating performance, manufacturer literature and specifications if available, information about PFAS content and technical data, and any additional information regarding fabric performance. This is an RFI seeking fabric composition information; the agency states that it is not currently soliciting design requirements or pricing.
