Description
The University of the Fraser Valley is seeking one multidisciplinary consulting team to perform a comprehensive condition assessment and feasibility study for Building B at the Abbotsford Campus. The work includes reviewing prior studies and records; assessing architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, electrical, life-safety, and other building systems; developing an asset inventory; identifying deficiencies, risks, remaining useful life, and code or operational concerns; and coordinating field investigations, testing, stakeholders, and subconsultants. The scope is limited to the building interior and excludes identifying building-envelope causes, envelope testing, envelope repairs, loose furniture, and detailed code review. The consultant must coordinate with related envelope and high-voltage assessments and include a $1,000 cash allowance for intrusive investigations, testing, and HAZMAT testing as specified in the addendum. The consultant must develop targeted repair, partial renewal, and full replacement options with Class D cost estimates, preventative-maintenance and operational recommendations, and a prioritized 5- to 10-year Capital Renewal, Deferred Maintenance, and Preventative Maintenance Roadmap using 2027 as the base year. Required work includes review cycles, page-turner meetings, coordination meetings, a risk-ranking matrix, and a virtual final presentation. Final reports and recommendations must be reviewed and signed or sealed by the responsible registered architects and/or professional engineers, as applicable. The final deliverables deadline has been extended to February 15, 2027.
