Description
The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District is soliciting proposals to upgrade its existing Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) onboard camera system across 18 railcars. The scope includes engineering, design, project management, hardware, software, licensing, integration, configuration, factory acceptance testing, qualification testing, Federal Railroad Administration submission support, commissioning, documentation, training, spare parts, warranty, and on-site installation support. The completed system must provide compliant onboard image and audio recording and achieve system acceptance by October 12, 2027. The work also includes a wayside video management system and integration with each railcar's existing Monitoring and Diagnostic System, Communication Control Unit, Passenger Information System, and Passenger Emergency Intercom subsystems. The transit district's vehicle maintenance team will perform the equipment installation, with installation support from the consultant. Buy America requirements apply, and the project is funded through federal, state, and local sources.
