Berkshire Regional Transit Authority is procuring a replacement intelligent transportation system with cloud-based software and licensing, hardware, implementation, data migration, training, and ongoing support. The system must support fixed-route and paratransit operations, scheduling, dispatch, CAD/AVL functions, GTFS and real-time feeds, customer information, mobile applications, AI-assisted phone answering, chat functionality, and microtransit booking, eligibility, zone management, dynamic routing, scheduling, dispatch, notifications, and reporting. The scope includes infotainment systems for bus interiors; automatic passenger counting equipment for 19 fixed-route vehicles and four MCI coaches; APC installation, calibration, testing, and National Transit Database certification; integration or evaluation of existing vehicle equipment; station and information services; two lobby displays; and planning for three future super stops. The addendum confirms that BRTA has no existing infotainment systems and intends to acquire the required hardware and software, that APC equipment is required for the specified vehicles, and that the selected contractor will replace obsolete systems and transfer historical data. Microtransit functionality is part of the base scope, while the related application must be included as a separately identified line item. The addendum also confirms a 5% bid bond based on the three-year contract value, required at proposal submission, and states that all required forms are contained in the RFP, with electronic signatures acceptable if secure and dated.
