Description
The City of Covington is soliciting sealed bids for the Runway 10 Obstruction Removal Project at Covington Municipal Airport. The work includes mobilization; clearing; removal of individual trees; uniform and individual tree topping; seeding; mulching; and landscaping. Bid alternatives and additives cover additional work at Parcel CB, Runway End 28, and the AWOS critical area, subject to available funding and the owner's selected award option. Bidders must be GDOT-prequalified, submit the required bid forms and qualifications materials, and comply with federal airport-project requirements, including DBE participation, prevailing wages, Buy American provisions, Davis-Bacon requirements, and other FAA and federal provisions. A 5% bid bond is required with the bid; separate 100% performance and payment bonds are required at contract execution. The work includes multiple phases with stated durations of 18, 13, and 28 calendar days, and the contractor must perform at least 25% of the work with its own organization.
