Description
United Independent School District is soliciting proposals from qualified utility contractors to provide district-wide, as-needed maintenance, repairs, installations, and upgrades. The scope includes water lines, fire lines, hydrants, backflow preventers, domestic water connections, sanitary sewer lines, storm-drain connections, sanitary and storm-sewer manholes, and related boxes and structures. Contractors must furnish all labor, tools, materials, machinery, equipment, safety apparatus, and incidentals. Specified materials include Type L or Type K copper, or approved equivalents, for water lines and PVC Schedule 40 or PVC SDR 26 for sewer lines. Work must comply with applicable municipal codes, OSHA trench-safety standards, and District requirements, and all installed materials must be new unless otherwise specified. The District may recommend one, more than one, or no vendors, with work issued through purchase orders based on facility needs. Contractors must provide at least three professional recommendation letters for similar utility work completed within the last three years, along with company experience and capability information. Work involving asbestos-containing transite or asbestos-cement piping must be performed by appropriately certified personnel; contractors without a current Texas Department of State Health Services asbestos contractor license must use a pre-approved licensed asbestos subcontractor. The proposal package includes District-provided certification and compliance forms, and insurance documentation is required to remain current. No guaranteed minimum spend or fixed budget is provided because work will be awarded on an as-needed basis.
