Description
The City of Laredo is soliciting bids for Phase 1 construction of the Jefferson Convenience Center. The scope includes 72,500 square feet of 7-inch heavy-duty reinforced concrete, 7,150 square feet of 10-inch reinforced concrete with embedded steel plates, subgrade preparation, demolition and haul-off, clearing and grubbing, ADA ramps and landings, curb and gutter, valley gutters, a 4-foot vehicular ramp with 6-foot walls, traffic control, concrete bollards, chain-link fencing and gates, and removal of existing fencing and gates. The work also includes underground electrical, sewer and water-line extensions with manholes, a meter and backflow preventer, stormwater pollution-prevention measures, construction entrances, a concrete wash pit, silt fencing, and a $100,000 contingency allowance. The contract time is 90 working days. Bidders must submit a completed bid package with the required forms, acknowledge Addendum No. 1, and provide a bid guarantee of at least 5% of the total bid. The bid guarantee must be an original bidder's bond, certified check, or cashier's check; performance and payment bonds are required for contracts exceeding the stated thresholds.
