Description
The City of Laredo is soliciting bids for the removal and disposal of 100 existing hydrants and installation of 100 City-furnished iHydrants: 75 five-foot units and 25 four-foot units. The work includes labor, equipment, excavation, connections, fittings, backfill, compaction, valve adjustments, safety signage, permits, disposal of discarded materials, and concrete and landscaping repair or restoration. The contractor must coordinate outages with the Utilities Department, maintain temporary protection and safety measures, and provide access for City inspection. The iHydrant internal smart-monitoring components, configuration, programming, activation, and commissioning are excluded and will be provided under a separate City contract. The bid includes specified allowances of $40,000 for concrete restoration and $10,000 for landscaping restoration. Bids will be awarded by total to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Electronic bids must be submitted through the Cit-E-Bid system, or hand-delivered bids may be submitted to the Office of the City Secretary at City Hall; mailed, emailed, telegraphic, and facsimile bids will not be considered. The bid requires the Company Information Questionnaire, signed price schedule, Conflict of Interest Questionnaire, Non-Collusive Affidavit, Discretionary Contracts Disclosure, and acknowledgment of Addendum 1 when applicable. Insurance documentation is required upon contract execution rather than with the bid, and Form 1295 is required only after award when applicable.
