Description
The City of Laredo seeks qualifications from firms to design, develop, and renovate approximately 22 acres along Zacate Creek as a design-build project. The scope includes park entrances, trails and trailheads, parking, pedestrian bridges, a visitor center with restrooms and bike and kayak rental, a kayak launch, community garden, playground, amphitheater renovation, viewing platforms, landscaping, irrigation, and related amenities. Improvements also include embankment stabilization, retaining wall rehabilitation, habitat restoration, and upgrades to existing park features. Professional services include site evaluation, survey coordination, environmental analysis and permitting, wetland delineation, contamination analysis, hydrology and hydraulic studies, utility coordination, conceptual alternatives, public and stakeholder coordination, preliminary engineering and landscape concepts, ADA and code review, construction documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, and phasing. The selected firm will coordinate the work through completion and City approval, including required agency coordination and compliance with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department project guidelines. Qualifications are evaluated on firm and team experience, technical approach, project management, and past performance, including similar projects completed within the past five years.
