Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting offers to purchase or lease one automated microbiology specimen processor, brand name or equal to the COPAN Walk-Away Specimen Processor (WASP). The system must automate specimen mixing, inoculation, streaking, labeling, and Gram-slide preparation for routine clinical microbiology specimens, support continuous on-demand processing, provide calibrated streaking, and support laboratory information system connectivity. The requirement includes the processor and associated accessories, software, installation, start-up, training, warranty, and service support. The solicitation provides both a purchase option and a lease option with a base period and four option years. Technical acceptability will be evaluated on a pass/fail basis using the stated salient characteristics and submitted descriptive literature.
