Description
The City of Hayward is seeking one or more bicycle manufacturers or distributors to supply 250 Class I electric bicycles for its Hayward Rides E-Bike Program. The bicycles must be suitable for urban riding and include batteries certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for fire safety and failure safeguards. The requested offerings may include cruiser-style electric bicycles and electric tricycles, with delivery intended to support distribution to senior residents by June 2027. Responses must include proposed e-bike models and pricing, customer support information, relevant experience and references, capacity and fulfillment information, a detailed approach, all-inclusive pricing, insurance confirmation and policy limits, and required certifications and forms. Evaluation will consider e-bike suitability and battery certification, pricing, order fulfillment and delivery capability, and value-added services or recommendations.
