Description
The Town of Wolfeboro, through the Wolfeboro Municipal Electric Department, is soliciting professional services to evaluate and design a proposed 7.2 kV single-phase submarine electric cable interconnection serving Barndoor Island and two nearby islands in Lake Winnipesaukee. The project includes evaluation of potential mainland and island connection points, routing alternatives, technical feasibility, environmental constraints, constructability, utility conflicts, shoreline and lakebed conditions, navigational considerations, and directional boring requirements. The existing 2.4 kV submarine cable system has experienced failures and is operating on a single phase; the proposed replacement includes a separate spare cable as a backup source in the same pathway. Required deliverables include project management, records review, field reconnaissance, a Conceptual Design and Feasibility Report, environmental constraints mapping, a preliminary permitting matrix, preferred-route and design recommendations, preliminary and final design drawings or a design package, conceptual cost estimates, and an implementation schedule. Permit preparation, submission, tracking, and acquisition may be authorized as optional services. Construction services, construction inspection, contractor means and methods, and contractor support are excluded unless separately authorized through a written scope amendment.
