Description

Mesa County Valley School District 51 is conducting a formal Request for Information/Innovation regarding replacement of approximately 1,411 desktop workstations. The scope includes approximately 1,288 school desktop replacements, about two dozen higher-performance systems for specialized applications such as Adobe and video editing, and approximately two touchscreen point-of-sale systems per school for food-service operations. The District expects complete workstations, including the computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse, with support for standard district applications, state assessment requirements such as CMAS/TestNav, interactive boards, projectors, and document cameras. The District is seeking recommendations for traditional desktops, thin clients, VDI or cloud desktops, ChromeOS alternatives, refurbished equipment, leasing, purchase, Device-as-a-Service, and other financing models. Responses should address configurations, Windows 11 and TPM compatibility, security and management, warranty-only support, four-year total cost of ownership, current pricing, financing and end-of-term options, and potential return or trade-in obligations. The District uses Intune, SCCM/MCM, CrowdStrike, Incident IQ, Microsoft A3, and Google Education Enterprise; District staff will handle deployment, imaging, software, security updates, repairs, and lifecycle support. Equipment will be shipped to a centralized facility, with one large deployment planned over June and July. Additional attachments, including Excel total-cost-of-ownership models, architecture diagrams, and multiple scenarios, are acceptable. This RFI is for market research and planning and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to purchase.
