Description
The City of Santa Clara is soliciting bids for one outdoor, oil-filled, three-phase step-down power transformer for its Agnew Substation. The requested unit is rated 20/26.6/33.3 MVA at 55°C and 22.4/29.8/37.3 MVA at 65°C, with specified voltage, tap-changer, monitoring, protection, and seismic requirements. The bid includes the transformer, auxiliary components, recommended spare parts, and optional storage and additional-transformer pricing. Bidders must provide guaranteed loss data and meet the detailed technical specifications. The selected contractor must design, manufacture, test, package, transport, deliver, set in place, assemble, fill with oil, field-test, and commission the transformer, and provide field engineering support and training. The required delivery date is December 31, 2027. On-site installation services are subject to prevailing-wage requirements. Five customer references are required; requests for approved equals require supporting documentation and three references demonstrating comparable deployment. Insurance documentation is required after notice of intended award, not with the bid.
