Description
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is soliciting bids for replacement of the existing light rail vehicle wash system at Building F of the Guadalupe Division. The work includes furnishing labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals to install a hybrid drive-through and gantry wash system, including pre-soak, high-pressure, final-rinse, reverse-osmosis, brush, gantry, blower, water-treatment, reclaim, tank, pump, RFID, traffic-control, and operator-interface equipment. The construction scope also includes demolition and disposal of existing wash, plumbing, electrical, track, concrete, and related equipment; installation of embedded track, a concrete wash slab, wastewater collection trench and pits, water-recycling and plumbing systems, electrical distribution and controls, lighting, a prefabricated canopy, foundations, and associated civil, structural, and site work. Work will occur in an operating rail yard and must be coordinated around active light rail operations, track and overhead-contact-system shutdown restrictions, safety training, restricted-access permits, prevailing-wage requirements, federal transit requirements, and a 3% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation goal. Bidders must be prequalified before bidding.
