Description
The USDA Forest Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor for asbestos abatement at three Rio Grande National Forest facilities: the River Springs Office Apartment, Creede Assistant Ranger Dwelling, and South Fork Bunkhouse Cabin. The work includes removing approximately 2,900 square feet of identified asbestos-containing materials from drywall textures, ceilings, walls, flooring, wall and ceiling patches, and window glazing; disposing of the materials at a licensed landfill; conducting independent third-party final air-clearance testing; and obtaining required Colorado permits and notifications. The contractor must replace disturbed materials with suitable materials, including Level 4 drywall finishes, matching textures, wood or engineered flooring or refinished existing wood flooring where applicable, non-asbestos window glazing, and standard interior latex acrylic paint. Work is scheduled for approximately November 1 through December 30, 2026, and must be performed by appropriately licensed and accredited asbestos personnel under a Colorado-certified General Abatement Contractor or qualified subcontractor. The quotation must include a technical approach, construction schedule, completed pricing schedule in the provided Excel format, and a bid guarantee. The project magnitude is stated as $100,000 to $250,000.
