Description
The City of Fountain is soliciting bids from qualified general contractors for construction of a new approximately 8,000-square-foot fire station at Fountain Fire Station #4. The scope includes all labor, materials, general construction, mechanical and electrical work, site clearing and grading, utilities, paving, concrete flatwork, landscaping, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, communications, fire alarm and emergency communication systems, and related finishes and equipment. The project includes an additive alternate for a third truck bay and unit prices for imported structural fill, structural backfill, asphalt paving, concrete walks, concrete curb and gutter, and heavy-duty concrete. Bidders must have built at least three ground-up, conventionally constructed fire stations in Colorado during the past 10 years; additions, remodels, and pre-engineered metal buildings do not qualify. The bid must include the provided General Contract Bid Form, qualifications information with project references and owner contact information, a proposal guaranty of at least 5 percent of the base bid, and the required subcontractor information. The successful contractor must provide 100 percent performance and labor-and-material payment bonds, but those bonds are post-award requirements.
