Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to replace air-conditioning equipment at the Tropical Plant Genetic Resources and Disease Research Unit’s nematology laboratory. The work includes removing and disposing of eight existing units; framing and trimming openings for four government-furnished wall units; installing electrical plugs and breaker connections; providing a 36,000-BTU, two-head split system for two main rooms; modifying breakers as needed; concealing refrigerant lines; providing ductwork; insulating and sealing installed units; setting the split-system foundation; and sealing and framing two openings that will no longer be used. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, and construction administration; coordinate utility interruptions and deliveries; maintain a safe and clean work area; remove waste; complete any punch-list work; and provide a one-year warranty after final acceptance. Work must be substantially completed within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed, with performance commencing within 10 calendar days after notice to proceed. Quotations must include a completed and signed SF 1442, a price proposal, and a technical proposal containing the work plan, key personnel information, performance schedule, and past-performance information. The technical work plan is limited to 10 pages, the key-personnel section to 3 pages, and the performance schedule to 3 pages; the three submission documents must be separate Adobe PDF files.
