Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to replace air-conditioning equipment at the Tropical Plant Genetic Resources and Disease Research Unit. The work includes removing and disposing of eight existing units; sealing and framing two openings that will no longer be used; preparing a foundation for a split-system base; installing four government-furnished wall units with interior and exterior trim, electrical connections, insulation, and weather sealing; and providing and installing a 36,000-BTU two-head split system with concealed lines, ductwork, and required breaker modifications. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, construction administration, site protection, cleanup, and coordination required by the statement of work. Work must begin within 10 calendar days after notice to proceed and be substantially complete within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed. The contractor must submit a detailed work plan, key-personnel information, a time-scaled performance schedule, pricing, and past-performance information for three similar projects completed within the previous three years. A one-year warranty from final acceptance is required, and performance and payment bonds are required under the solicitation provisions.
