Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, services, and construction administration necessary to install a roof over an 8-by-40-foot containerized laboratory. The scope includes preparing the framework and supports, installing wood framing and corrugated metal roofing, securing the roof to the container without external support beyond the existing concrete moat, providing a roof pitch of at least 25% unless otherwise approved, extending the overhang to direct rain away from sidewalks, screening the ends to prevent pest nesting, and securing the structure for windy conditions. The contractor must protect existing roads, curbs, sidewalks, utilities, structures, and equipment; coordinate staging, deliveries, utility interruptions, and work hours with the Government; remove waste and equipment at completion; and complete any punch-list work before final invoicing. The work must be substantially completed within 60 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, and a one-year warranty is required. Manufacturer technical data sheets for specified items must be submitted within 10 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Award is anticipated as a firm-fixed-price purchase order using a lowest-price-technically-acceptable evaluation, with technical approach, company experience, references, pricing, and past performance considered.
