The State of Florida, Agency for Health Care Administration, is issuing a Request for Proposal for a vendor to develop, implement, and maintain a web-based organ and tissue donor registry, known as the Joshua Abbott Organ and Tissue Registry, coupled with a public education initiative. The registry will allow online registration, provide 24/7 access for donors and procurement organizations, and interface with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The vendor will also conduct statewide educational campaigns targeting medical professionals, law enforcement, government employees, high school students, minorities, and the public. The contract includes a 3-month implementation phase followed by a 5-year term with possible renewals. Funding comes from voluntary contributions deposited into the Health Care Trust Fund. Addenda have been posted providing answers to written questions and making modifications to the RFP, including details on data migration of approximately 10.6 million records and updated implementation timelines.
