Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is soliciting a small-business contractor to maintain and support the National Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Biorepository in support of the ALS Registry Act. The requirement includes prospective collection of biospecimens from up to 150 registry enrollees per year; informed consent and participant scheduling; collection of blood, urine, saliva, hair, nails, and post-mortem specimens; transport, processing coordination, cataloging, storage, inventory management, and secure linkage of specimens to registry data; and protection of personally identifiable information. The contractor will also support IRB and OMB materials, specimen-request review and fulfillment for qualified researchers, marketing and supply/demand analysis, publications support, quality assurance, reporting, and coordination with CDC laboratories and biorepository personnel. Work is to be performed off-site at the contractor’s facility during normal business hours, with travel for government-requested meetings, conferences, and site visits as applicable. The anticipated period of performance is September 28, 2026, through September 27, 2031, including a base year and four option years; an optional contract-transition task is also included. Proposals must include technical, staffing, management, and price volumes, with an AI Compliance and Risk Management Plan if AI is planned or may be used.
