Description
The National Institutes of Health, through its Clinical Center Department of Transfusion Medicine, intends to award a sole-source IDIQ contract for specialized blood products needed for patient care. Required products include leukoreduced and multiple-antigen-negative red blood cells, Fresh Frozen AB plasma, cryoprecipitate, single-donor platelets, and HLA-typed platelets. The anticipated annual quantities are approximately 300–400 antigen-negative leukoreduced red blood cells, 50–100 units of Fresh Frozen AB plasma, and 100–200 units of single-donor platelets. The contractor must provide FDA-licensed, human-use blood products prepared in accordance with applicable AABB, CAP, CLIA, and FDA requirements; access to multiple blood centers nationwide; antigen screening for specified common and uncommon RBC antigens; 24/7 accessibility; electronic ordering and tracking; and the ability to locate and distribute rare products during shortages or specialized patient requirements.
