Description
Portage Township Schools is soliciting sealed bids for multiple prime contracts for the 2026 renovation of Portage High School. Bid categories include general trades, masonry, metal studs/drywall/ceilings, painting, carpet/flooring/hard tile, food service equipment, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work. The project documents identify associated scopes including selective demolition, concrete, doors and hardware, roofing restoration, firestopping, HVAC systems, communications, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, site work, paving, and utilities. Bid security equal to 10% of the bid is required, and successful bidders must provide performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount before contract execution. Construction is anticipated to begin within 27 calendar days after receipt of bids and must be completed within 278 consecutive calendar days after the notice to proceed. Contractors must also comply with applicable public-works requirements, insurance requirements, background-check and site-badge requirements, E-Verify obligations, drug-testing-plan requirements, and self-performance requirements stated in the project documents.
