Description
The Texas Workforce Commission is conducting statewide open enrollment for qualified providers of Independent Living Services for Older Individuals who are Blind for customers served by the Vocational Rehabilitation division. Services support individuals age 55 and older with significant visual impairments and may include independent living skills training, assessments, orientation and mobility training, diabetes education, Braille instruction, equipment, guide and reader services, transportation, information and referral, peer counseling, advocacy training, and transition services. Services must be provided in person and may begin only after an approved service authorization is issued. Applicants must meet the stated requirements and specifications, including staff qualifications, and submit the required enrollment forms and supporting documentation. The resulting contract term is five years from execution, with no guaranteed volume, usage, or compensation. The solicitation may result in multiple contracts across Texas.
