Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting a contractor to provide scheduled and on-call trash collection, hauling, and lawful disposal services. The contractor must furnish labor, four- and six-cubic-yard trash bins, equipment, travel, disposal fees, and related incidentals and taxes. Services cover six Caltrans facilities in Mono County, including maintenance stations and a safety roadside rest area, with additional seasonal bins required at the Crestview Safety Roadside Rest Area from June 1 through August 31. The contractor must hold a valid California Motor Carrier Permit and current Department of Industrial Relations registration, comply with prevailing-wage and organic-waste-recycling requirements, use covered and properly maintained bins and vehicles, provide disposal receipts, and perform all work without subcontracting. The agreement is estimated to run from December 15, 2026, through December 14, 2028, subject to approval and notice to proceed. A five percent certified Small Business or Microbusiness preference is available; DVBE participation is encouraged but not required.
