Description
This Stage II Invitation to Bid is limited to contractors prequalified under the State of Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management’s Stage I mechanical contractor program. The project will upgrade the Utah Department of Transportation’s Cedar City Administration and Laboratory buildings by replacing existing VAV boxes and finned-tube radiation, upgrading building automation controls, and installing new variable-frequency drives for hot-water pumps. The work also includes associated mechanical piping, electrical connections, controls, testing, balancing, commissioning, hazardous-material coordination, and related demolition shown in the plans and specifications. The construction budget is $486,773.00. Substantial completion is required by June 30, 2027, with construction unable to begin before April 1, 2027. A 5% bid bond is required with the bid, and the awarded contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is required for prime contractors, and the subcontractor list must be submitted separately after bid opening.
