Description
Utah Tech University is soliciting sealed bids from qualified, licensed, and bonded contractors for the Road Scholar Remodel at the firehouse at 51 S 1000 E in St. George, Utah. The project includes demolition and disposal of an existing training house, slab, footings, vegetation, landscape rock, curb, gutter, and affected pavement; grading and compaction; replacement curb and gutter; asphalt restoration; and utility protection and relocation. The work also includes underground electrical conduit, a new electrical distribution point and 120-volt receptacles, a prefabricated approximately 12-by-12-foot bus-washing shed with water service, an RV/bus dump and cleanout station connected to sanitary sewer and water, prefabricated steel shade structures with engineered footings and anchorage, and a walkway connection. Contractors must coordinate utilities, inspections, traffic control, testing, restoration, closeout records, and as-built locations. Minimum qualifications include a current Utah general contractor license, at least three comparable projects completed within the past five years, satisfactory safety and EMR history, and sufficient financial and bonding capacity. The project budget is $265,000, with construction scheduled to start November 16, 2026, and substantial completion required by March 1, 2027.
