Description
The State of Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands is soliciting a prequalified contractor to perform wildland fire hazardous-fuels reduction on approximately 98.13 acres. The work consists of hand-cutting and stacking live and dead mixed-conifer trees, shrubs, and saplings, including chainsaw cutting, slash processing, and construction of tightly spaced piles meeting specified dimensions and clearance requirements. The contractor must furnish all labor, chainsaws and other equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, incidentals, and a device capable of displaying georeferenced maps. Heavy equipment is prohibited. The contractor must comply with detailed tree-selection, stump-height, piling, environmental, fire-prevention, access, public-safety, and cultural-resource requirements. A supervisor must remain on site during operating hours, and a mandatory pre-work conference will occur before work begins. The project must be completed by July 31, 2027, with award anticipated for the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Participation is limited to contractors on the current State of Utah Rangeland Prequalification List for the applicable treatment and acreage category.
