Description
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking multiple master agreements with firms prequalified to perform general construction services on a work-order basis for the AirTrain Newark Replacement Project. Potential work includes demolition and removal, site work, abatement, construction staging, drainage, lighting, architectural finishes, foundations, structural steel, concrete, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and communications, fire protection, elevators and escalators, masonry, roofing, utility relocations, geotechnical and environmental testing, paving, signing and striping, maintenance of traffic, and temporary structures. The project involves a new 2.5-mile elevated automated people mover system replacing the existing AirTrain. The Authority anticipates multiple agreements in two qualification ranges: Range A, up to $2.5 million and set aside for local Port Authority-certified minority- and women-owned business enterprises; and Range B, $2.5 million to $20 million and open to all firms. Total work under all work orders is estimated at $50 million to $65 million. Firms must demonstrate applicable construction experience and key-staff qualifications, submit safety and financial information, and provide required bonding-capacity documentation for Range B. Master agreements are anticipated to run for seven years with two one-year extension options; execution of an agreement does not guarantee a work-order award.
