Description
The County of San Mateo is soliciting proposals for membership in a group purchasing organization for San Mateo Medical Center, with access also available to other County departments. The selected organization will provide medical-related purchasing programs, contract portfolios, tiered and market-basket pricing, supplier and distributor management, rebates and administrative-fee programs, benchmarking, clinical and quality-improvement tools, e-commerce and price-activation technology, transaction-data support, and implementation and account-management services. Proposals must address the GPO's membership options, fees, equity and commitment requirements, pricing and contracting practices, savings and rebate distribution, supplier diversity, pharmaceutical and medical-surgical programs, specialty pharmacy, shortage mitigation, vendor performance, technology capabilities, transition planning, customer support, and applicable costs. The response must include pricing for the provided portfolio data, with substitute products disclosed when exact matches are unavailable. The resulting agreement is expected to have a five-year term and may be used by other organizations under a cooperative agreement.
