Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is seeking a contractor to remove approximately 146 cubic yards of rubber mulch from four playground fall zones and approximately 2.67 cubic yards from three adjacent contaminated areas at the First Environments Early Learning Center. The contractor must transport and properly dispose of the removed rubber mulch, clean the affected areas, and maintain detailed removal and disposal records. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, equipment, permits, licensing, and certifications; prepare the fall zones; install approximately 175 cubic yards of engineered wood fiber meeting ASTM F1292, F2075, and F1951-21; install a drainage layer and geotextile fabric; and maintain the specified installation depth and slope. Quotations will be evaluated primarily on lowest price, but vendors must provide the brand and type of proposed engineered wood fiber and filter fabric documentation. The work is firm-fixed-price and is scheduled for November 1 through December 16, 2026.
