Description
The University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking architect-engineer qualifications for advanced planning and potential subsequent design and construction administration services for HVAC refurbishments at University Suites. The anticipated scope includes replacement of VRF systems and associated indoor and outdoor equipment, refrigerant and condensate distribution, controls, related electrical components, non-LED lighting, windows, and minor interior finishes across seven suites buildings and a service building. The posted planning budget for advanced planning and design is not to exceed $600,000, with a placeholder total project budget of approximately $20 million. The anticipated schedule includes planning and design during 2026–2027, early procurement and enabling work beginning in late 2027, and intrusive construction during summer 2028. The selected firm may be retained through schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration at the University's option. Responses must include project expertise, similar past performance, proposed staff and consultants, design approach, cost and schedule experience, construction administration capabilities, and SF-330 architect-engineer qualifications.
