Description
New Hanover County is soliciting sealed bids for the 2026–2027 Mason Inlet Maintenance Project. The base bid includes hydraulic dredging of approximately 376,000 cubic yards of shoaled material from Mason Inlet, Mason Creek, and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, followed by placement on the southern beachfront of Figure Eight Island. An optional bid item covers approximately 75,300 additional cubic yards of dredging seaward of the COLREGS line; bidding on this optional work is not required. The work also includes shaping and grading the beach and monitoring environmental concerns. Bidders must be pre-qualified for New Hanover County capital improvement projects. The bid documents state that the bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, U.S. Postal Money Order, or bid bond of at least 5% of the bid, and Addendum No. 1 must be acknowledged on the Bid Form.
