Description
Pender County Schools is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from qualified Construction Manager-at-Risk firms for renovation of an existing classroom area into a modern instructional food lab at Pender High School. The anticipated work includes demolition, instructional kitchen stations, plumbing modifications, mechanical and exhaust systems, electrical and technology upgrades, interior finishes, casework, equipment installation, and code and accessibility improvements. Construction is anticipated from November 2026 through January 2027 and must be coordinated with ongoing school operations. The selected firm will provide preconstruction services including cost estimating, schedule development, constructability reviews, value engineering, phasing and logistics planning, long-lead-item identification, budget monitoring, and design-meeting participation. Construction-phase services will include public bidding of trade packages, construction management, subcontractor management, scheduling and coordination, safety oversight, quality control, closeout, and warranty administration under a Guaranteed Maximum Price arrangement. Qualifications will be evaluated on relevant K-12 experience, proposed team qualifications, project approach, Construction Manager-at-Risk experience, and references. The response must include a cover letter, relevant experience, proposed project team, project approach, and three comparable-project client references.
