Description
The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority is soliciting qualifications from firms to provide comprehensive architectural and engineering services for two additional Bus Rapid Transit shelter platforms in downtown Birmingham and two mobility hub shelters along Carraway Boulevard. The scope includes surveying, geotechnical investigations, civil, structural, architectural, landscape, MEP, fire protection, accessibility, signage, security, utility, and communications design. The selected consultant will support programming and schematic design, design development, final construction documents, permitting, cost estimating, value engineering, bid support, construction administration, construction observation, shop drawing and submittal review, change-order review, progress reporting, punch-list completion, as-built documentation, and project closeout. The anticipated design duration is 360 calendar days, followed by a 300-calendar-day construction duration. Proposals are limited to 75 pages and must demonstrate relevant transit and FTA-funded project experience, multidisciplinary qualifications, a technical approach, project management capabilities, quality-control procedures, financial capacity, and at least three comparable client references.
