Description
The City of Birmingham, Alabama is requesting proposals from qualified landfill-gas-to-energy developers to finance, design, build, operate, and maintain a landfill gas to energy (LFGE) project at the City's two landfills: the Eastern Area Landfill and New Georgia Landfill. The selected developer will be responsible for planning, permitting, financing, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and environmental monitoring, as well as marketing and selling the landfill gas and its byproducts. The developer will make payments to the City based on metered gas quantities or a revenue-sharing arrangement. The initial contract term is 20 years, with two optional 5-year extensions. Proposals are due September 21, 2026.
