Description
The City of Birmingham is requesting proposals from qualified developers to finance, design, build, operate, and maintain a landfill gas to energy (LFGE) project at the Eastern Area Landfill and New Georgia Landfill. The project includes planning, permitting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and environmental monitoring. The developer will market and sell the landfill gas and its byproducts, and in exchange, make payments to the City based on metered quantities or revenue sharing. The initial contract term is 20 years with two optional 5-year extensions. Proposals are due September 21, 2026.
