Description
Hillsborough County Water Resources Department is soliciting competitive sealed bids for as-needed replacement of fire hydrants, hydrant assemblies, and valves on existing water mains throughout the county. The work includes exploratory excavation, utility locating, excavation and shoring, dewatering, installation and restraint of hydrant assemblies and valves, flow testing, concrete pads, site restoration, traffic and sedimentation control, asphalt, sidewalk, gutter, and curb repairs, and related work. Contractors must furnish all labor, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, permits, and incidental items. The solicitation is a term contract with estimated quantities and work issued through individual work orders. The County may make one or more awards to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s). The estimated opportunity value is $1,900,000, with additional stated allowances of $106,000 for exploratory excavation and permits and $177,100 for non-priced items. A five percent bid bond is required with the bid; successful bidder(s) must provide 100 percent performance and payment bonds and required insurance after award. No required SBE goal was established.
