Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons is conducting market research for a future firm-fixed-price construction contract to replace the roof serving the Federal Prison Camp HVAC, plumbing, and communications shops at FCC Terre Haute. The work includes removing approximately 17,000 square feet of existing asphalt roofing; repairing affected rafters and roof decking; installing a complete standing-seam metal roofing system with underlayment, insulation, flashing, trim, gutters, downspouts, and applicable snow guards; and removing and legally disposing of construction debris. The contractor would provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, waste removal, temporary protection, site logistics, testing, inspections, and required construction submittals. Work would occur within a secure federal correctional facility, requiring employee background investigations, institution orientation, escorted access, tool inventories, and compliance with facility security procedures. The attached questionnaire requests information about company size, subcontracting, socioeconomic eligibility, bonding capacity, relevant federal or comparable construction experience, estimated pricing, and anticipated performance duration. The estimated performance period is 120 calendar days, and the project magnitude is stated as $100,000 to $350,000.
