Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a firm-fixed-price construction contractor to renovate the second and third floors of Building 650 at the Sacramento VA Medical Center. The scope includes demolition and replacement of approximately 38,000 square feet of carpet and luxury vinyl tile, resilient wall base, associated flooring accessories, painting throughout the affected rooms, drywall repairs of up to 20 percent of each room's surface area as needed, and replacement of existing plastic corner guards with stainless steel corner guards. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, disposal, engineering, testing, and specialty services. The work will occur in an active hospital and must follow VA infection-control, dust-control, safety, security, phasing, and patient-care requirements. Work is generally required outside normal business hours, with room assignments limited to five rooms at a time during weekday work and a maximum performance period of 240 calendar days from notice to proceed. The response must address key personnel, prior experience, project scheduling, past performance, pricing, bid guarantee, contractor responsibility, and required safety and environmental certifications.
