Description
The Bergen County Improvement Authority is soliciting bids for Phase 4 boiler and pressure-reducing-valve upgrades at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. The construction scope includes demolition and replacement of a dual-fuel 800-horsepower boiler, temporary and permanent deaerator and surge-tank systems, steam and condensate piping, fuel and gas piping, chimney and economizer work, controls integration with the hospital's Siemens building management system, electrical and plumbing modifications, structural work, and steam-control upgrades across Buildings 5, 6, 8, and 11. An alternate equipment-rigging path is also included. The work must maintain continuous central-utility-plant operation and comply with hospital infection-control, dust-control, life-safety, phasing, prevailing-wage, public-works registration, affirmative-action, and other facility requirements. Bidders must provide the required bid forms, bid security, consent of surety, certifications, subcontractor information, and related compliance documents. The successful contractor must provide performance, payment, and maintenance bonding and required insurance. The work is to be substantially completed within 420 calendar days after issuance of all necessary building permits. Addendum 1 revises the gas piping to 4 inches, sets the building gas pressure range at more than 2 psig and up to 5 psig, and adds requirements for a 4-inch thermal-mass gas flow meter.
